How has the Prevalence of the Omicron variant in the UK increased criticism of Boris Johnson?

What is the reason for the growing doubts about the political future of Boris Johnson?

The crisis over the outbreak of a new variant of coronavirus called Omicron in the UK came at the wrong time for the prime minister, as Boris Johnson’s problem is his great political weakness due to the scandals piled up in recent months. The Prevalence of the Omicron variant in the UK has had a very negative impact on Boris Johnson’s popularity.

Boris Johnson’s political life is coming to an end.

UK PM Boris Johnson described the “dead cat trick” in one of his campaigns for London’s mayoralty:

“if the news is negative, throw a “dead cat” on the table – some more manageable controversy – so that people leave talk about the original scandal and get distracted by this other topic instead.”

The current UK prime minister’s problem is that he is mired in a series of scandals.

The UK government seeks to speed up vaccination.

Johnson announced on Sunday that, after five months of “release”, restrictions were being returned to the UK in the face of a growing wave of the Covid-19 virus. The new Covid-19 variant, called Omicron, now accounts for about 40 per cent of new cases of covid-19 heart disease in the country. According to the Prime Minister, infected people doubles every two to three days.

The UK government announced a way to deal with this rapid outbreak by speeding up vaccinations. Boris Johnson surprisingly called on clinics and all health centres to suspend all medical appointments for the next few days so that all family doctors could dedicate themselves to vaccinations.

New restrictions in the UK

The requirement to obtain a Covid-19 health certificate, subject to receiving three doses of vaccine to enter crowded and enclosed spaces with a population of more than 4,000, the requirement to wear a mask indoors and telecommuting are other restrictions that have been added to the government’s list of measures. The usual list, which Johnson’s person cancelled last July, was shocking.

The crisis starts at the worst possible time.

However, this new health crisis has come at the wrong time for the Prime Minister, as Johnson’s problem is his great political weakness due to the scandals accumulated in recent months. About a month ago, Johnson announced the reduction of rail infrastructure projects for the North of the UK, one of the primary election promises for levelling and equality in different parts of the country. Despite this promise, Johnson was forced to vote in defence of one of his deputies, Tory MP Owen Paterson, accused of using his position to defend the interests of two companies that earned more than £100,000 per year.

Corruption in Boris Johnson’s government

The UK government backed and won a vote on an anti-corruption bill to pull Paterson out of the predicament. But the following day, the UK government was forced into a humiliating retreat in the face of public outcry and the anger of conservatives who were forced to support the amendment. Paterson eventually resigned, and following the government’s withdrawal, Conservative MPs publicly expressed outrage that they were forced to vote against their conscience.

Party scandal in the Prime Minister’s building

The story is as simple as it is catastrophic. Last year, when the UK was under severe Covid-19 restrictions and banning parties in the face of the second wave of the Covid-19 outbreak, Downing Street hosted several Christmas parties. ON WEDNESDAY, the PM of the UK, Boris Johnson, apologized after a video of his office staff mocking and laughing at a celebration held at the Prime Minister’s Office during last year’s Christmas quarantine, when the rallies were banned.

Violation of Covid-19 restrictions by government officials

Johnson and his cabinet have repeatedly said they did not violate the rules during the late 2020 rallies. Still, the Sunday Mirror reported that the British prime minister was speaking at a party, and his team was in a 40- to 50-person gathering with alcohol. The video insulted those who followed lockdown rules when separated from their families at Christmas, said the opposition Labour Party, Keir Starmer.

Boris Johnson targets a variety of criticisms.

In recent months, Johnson has come under fire for a moral scandal, the award of lucrative contracts in Covid-19, the renovation of his Downing Street apartment, and his claim that he was trying to ensure that Military evacuated pets from Kabul during the scandalous departure from Afghanistan.

The blow to Johnson’s reputation is quite evident in the polls. While Johnson’s popularity is at an all-time low and most British citizens call for his resignation, it is difficult to defend the new restrictions.

The British demanded the resignation of Boris Johnson.

As a result, nearly 100 members of the British Parliament, one-fifth of Johnson’s Conservative factions, have already voted against the new restrictions. In this way, the approval of Johnson’s declared actions will be in the hands of the Labor Party. The results of a poll of 24,691 Express.co.uk readers on December 9th and 10th show that 59 per cent of voters want the resignation of PM Boris Johnson following the revelation of quarantine violations and a party at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Worrying increase in Omicron variant in the UK

Following the alarming rise in Omicron cases in the UK and the increase of warnings in the country. In a press conference, the UK Prime Minister explained the issue of the spread of the new variant.

The Prime Minister of the UK, referring to the doubling of the number of patients with Omicron and the increase in the number of patients admitted to British hospitals, called on all people over the age of 18 to complete their vaccine dose as soon as possible.

The widespread Prevalence of Omicron variant in the UK

The number of people suffering from Covid-19 daily has reached 78,000, which is the highest rate since the epidemic in this country. The PM of the UK announced the hospitalization of at least 15 people due to the Omicron variant in British hospitals. Since last week, the number of definitive cases of Covid-19 in the country has increased by 10%.

Scientists have recently announced that two doses of injectable vaccines in the UK will not provide the necessary immunity against the omicron strain. People will require a third dose of the corona vaccine. The UK PM also stressed the need to use masks, indoor air conditioning and testing before meeting the elderly and people with underlying diseases.

With his tangled hair, the UK PM is a kind politician for some and an optimist for others; the traits he used to come to power in July 2019, but now these traits are increasingly being questioned. A series of political mistakes have led to a decline in Boris Johnson’s political credibility in recent weeks. Under such circumstances, the Prevalence of the Omicron variant in the UK has increased the pressure on Boris Johnson.
