Britain’s role in shaping US foreign policy

The lack of continuity in US foreign policy is evident during Biden’s presidency. It led the British Government to use America’s hard power at various times to influence UK foreign policy on the World order.

UK foreign policy concerns

The British Government’s political concerns in international politics included axes which, through the Biden administration in the White House, set them in London’s preferred direction.

Strategies of the British Government to implement its foreign policy worldwide

The lack of continuity in US foreign policy is evident during Biden’s presidency. The British Government has four foreign policy concerns that the Biden government has made operational.

Throughout history, the British Government, using the inexperience of US presidents and the policy of deception, has been able to implement its foreign policy and world order.London was able to direct US foreign policy in such a way that the British Government’s policy in international relations prevailed.

Trump Administration, former US president, did not believe in the existence and strengthening of the NATO military alliance and considered Russia and Vladimir Putin as its allies. This was not at all pleasant for British Government as a western power.

Britain was able to persuade Trump not to repeal the NATO military alliance and adhere to it by portraying China and Russia as enemies; because the British Government has much influence in NATO and by using its policy of deception.

Strategies of the British Government in the presidency of Joe Biden

With Trump’s forced departure from the White House, the British Government strengthened and consolidated the NATO military alliance. By launching a war between Russia and Ukraine, Russia’s containment policy on the Western agenda changed the German foreign policy from looking east to obeying the Anglo-Saxons.

The British Government is pleased that the close NATO military alliance with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine puts more military support by sending troops and weapons to strengthen NATO.

The Russia-Ukraine war helped Britain re-establish its relationship with EU member countries after Brexit. Britain could continue to assert itself as an influential international power and immerse France’s power-hungry policy of forming an independent European army in an aura of ambiguity.

Conclusion

According to Herald Alba, Britain Government could implement its desired foreign policy in the world by using the inexperience and multilateral policy of the US Government and by using the formidable power of the US and introducing the East countries such as Russia and China as enemies of the Western countries.

To this end, the British Government launched the Russia-Ukraine war to portray Eastern countries as enemies of the western countries, to continue to maintain its supremacy and influence after Brexit, and to pursue its politics worldwide.
